Travel. Run away. Not before it’s too late, because it’ll never be too late. Run away regularly. Run away alone, or with friends, or lovers. Run away so often it’s not called running away, it’s called life.
And then work. And work hard, work often. If you hate your job, quit. Or don’t quit, work hard and find something you like about your job. Even if it’s just the stationary you use.
Eat. Gorge yourself on good food rather than cheap vodka. Don’t binge drink (you’ll thank me in the morning). Wake up for a sunrise once in a while, instead of staying up to see it.
Go on dates with friends and strangers and yourself. Don’t go on dates with exes. Talk about your dreams with anyone who will listen because otherwise you’ll forget what they are.
Take a road trip to see lavender fields. Row across the Serpentine (or get someone to row while you quaff some prosecco.) go on a walk where there aren’t any shops. Go to Plumpton (don’t go to Plumpton). But at least go somewhere new, even if it’s just a new route to work.
Make time for your mother.
Read books. A lot of books. Fill your house with books you’ll want to re-read your children, or even your cat.
Wear low cut tops while you can, and short skirts, just not together and remember to wear underwear.
